In 2015, Stacy Schaffer launched 31:8 Project with a vision to educate communities about human trafficking and equip people with the knowledge to recognize and respond to exploitation.
What began as a commitment to raising awareness has grown into an organization reaching students, professionals, survivors, and communities across North Dakota and beyond.
Today, 31:8 Project continues that work through education, advocacy, prevention, and survivor support—bringing people together to build communities that are better equipped to recognize exploitation and respond when it happens.
The mission of 31:8 Project is to equip and challenge our communities to recognize and respond to human trafficking. We do this through education, advocacy, and services that support survivors.
To be recognized as the leading human trafficking resource throughout the Northern Plains.
Our work is grounded in education, collaboration, dignity, survivor-centered support, and a commitment to creating safer communities.
Take a closer look at the people, purpose, and moments that have shaped 31:8 Project.
